Bowline Hotel - Astoria, OR

The Hotel

We drove up on one of the wettest days I have ever seen in the PNW! We checked into the Bowline Hotel around 5pm. The hotel use to be a cannery on the water front and the renovations they made to create 40 rooms and a bar, does not go unnoticed. You can see all the exposed beams and more in your room.

Upon check in you are greeted by the front desk and offered a glass of champagne, such a nice touch. The lobby is also a bar called the Knot bar, more on that one later! This lobby is one of the coziest ones i’ve seen at the coast!

Every room comes with a cozy fireplace that keeps your room nice and cozy. You know I love a cozy fire! Something that really stuck out to me and added such a nice touch was the coffee and tea bar in your room. They provide a french press for your coffee and lose leaf tea. You don’t see that in your day to day hotel room. Bowline is such a nice boutique hotel.

Some but not all rooms have a river view and/or bath tub. We stayed one night in the Luxe Trolly view king and one night in the river view king.

The Knot bar

The Knot bar is located inside the Bowline Hotel. It is the perfect place to stop for a quick bite to eat with a drink or a drink before you head back to your room. You can take whatever you order from the Knot bar back to your room.

We got a few drinks here and no food because their wasn’t to many vegetarian options for myself.

They also offer barrel saunas! These are just a quick walk from your room. They provide you in room robes and slippers to help you stay cozy on your walk to the sauna. We didn’t get to enjoy these because we couldn’t leave our dogs alone for too long.

You also will be sharing the hotel property with some sea lions. We didn’t find them to be a problem at all. Yes they did bark a lot at times but they offer you earplugs and a sound machine just in case. I found them to be quite funny and they all seemed to have a bedtime too! We ate lunch in the downstairs of Fort George and dinner from the upstairs. They offer the same drinks on both and different food options on the levels. This was a quick weekend trip for us. We did walk around downtown a little but we had our pups with us.
